Procurement opportunities in the IFMIF-DONES project presented to technological and construction companies

The City Council of Málaga, through Promálaga, organised an event in collaboration with the IFMIF-DONES Consortium in which the technological and construction sectors learned about the economic impact of the scientific project IFMIF-DONES that will be built in Escúzar (Granada).

Representatives of institutions and professionals in the technology, science and construction sectors addressed the construction of IFMIF-DONES, its economic impact and how it will boost the industry of science. Upcoming procurement opportunities were also presented as well as future opportunities in the technological field and support tools for R&D.

The list of speakers included Ángel Ibarra, Director of the IFMIF-DONES Consortium, José Aguilar, Coordinator of the Technical Office of IFMIF-DONES, Erik Fernández, General Manager at Ineustar, and Belén del Cerro, ILO in Spain for ITER and responsible for fusion at the Department of Large Scientific Infrastructures and Dual Programmes.

This event was supported by the collaboration of the Consortium that will boost the IFMIF-DONES particle accelerator in Granada, the Association of Builders and Developers of Málaga, the Spanish Science Industry Association (Ineustar), the Spanish Technological Platform for the Industry of Science (Induciencia), the University of Granada, The Ministry of Science and Innovation, CIEMAT, and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI).
