Geotechnical study at the IFMIF-DONES site within the DONES PRIME program

Within the framework of the DONES-PRIME program, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), different activities are being carried out to characterize the site of the future IFMIF-DONES. Among these, preliminary topographic and geotechnical studies have been developed of the entire plot and in greater depth, of the part of the plot in which the first three buildings are to be built, within this program. An intensive geotechnical study of the entire plot is currently underway with special emphasis on the area of ​​the main building that will house the accelerators, lithium systems and test modules.

The contract to carry out the field work and laboratory tests has been awarded to the company Labso, while the technical direction of the work and the preparation of an interpretive report that allows linking the results with the design of the buildings have been entrusted to the company Ingesuelo.
