DONES-PreP Council analyses the first six months of the project

The decision-making body holds its second meeting since the beginning of the preparatory phase

The DONES-PreP project Council, a decision-making body formed by representatives of the partners of the project with a key role in the implementation of IFMIF-DONES, held last April 15th a follow-up meeting and analysed the work conducted during the first months of the project. The meeting, which took place by videoconference, is the second to be organised since the beginning of the DONES-PreP project. The first meeting took place in Madrid last October.

The meeting, also attended by observers from Fusion for Energy and EUROfusion, focused on the progress made in each work package of DONES-PreP. It addressed in detail the progress regarding governance, costs, and legal framework aspects of IFMIF-DONES, preparation status of environmental and radiological licenses and permits, and quality systems. The Council was also informed about the meeting held recently by the Project Committee, chaired by Professor Anton Möslang, and its role as advisory body.

The Council, which also commented on the possible impact caused by the COVID-19 crisis, scheduled its next meeting for the end of 2020. The meeting was attended by members of CIEMAT, OnGranada Tech City, IPFN, KIT, EK, WUT, SCKCEN, ENEA, UKAEA-CCFE, EAI, IPPLM, F4E, RBI, EUROfusion, IFJ PAN, Law Firm Ravlić & Šurjak, INFN, and CEA.
